“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor... Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting." – Mother Teresa

Mother's Day

Lenny placed this quote from Grapes of Wrath in my Mother's Day card. The sentiment is beautiful.

“But better than joy was calm. Imperturbability could be depended upon. And from her great and humble position in the family she had taken dignity and a clean calm beauty. From her position as healer, her hands had grown sure and cool and quiet; from her position as arbiter she had become as remote and faultless in judgment as a goddess. She seemed to know that if she swayed the family shook, and if she ever really deeply wavered or despaired the family would fall, the family will to function would be gone.”

Results of Track Final

It was 100 degrees today. I don't know how the runners survived. Joey placed 2nd in league for discus. We think he will be competing in CIF. Usually the top 3 competitors in each event go to CIF. We'll find out next week. Leonard text messaged the boys to remind them about Mother's Day. He forgot to point out that Mother's Day is not until Sunday. Lenny bought us all tickets to go see Star Trek, but I couldn't go because of the track meet. He and Luke went without me and Leonard. Then, after the movie, he felt guilty and ran out to buy me a card. Luke finally figured out that Lenny thought it was Mother's Day today.

I spent last night and most of today designing my blog. I haven't decided with whom I will share it. I am not sure what I will come up with when given an open forum. I make myself squirm sometimes, especially when I write late at night.

This photo along with the photo of the pier were taken by Joey. He is an excellent photographer. Tomorrow is his track final. He is growing into a fine young man.
